Tippmann and Special Ops Unite, Creating the Ultimate Woodsball Alliance -- "What really chapped our hides, and prompted us to start this company in the first place, were the paintball magazines," recalls Jayson Orvis, co-founder of Special Ops Paintball. "Three years ago, if you picked up any paintball magazine, tournament paintball ads and stories outnumbered woodsball ads and stories ten-to-one. And it was totally screw-ball. In the real world, seventy-percent of players were woods players. It wasn't the magazines' fault at all (all the magazine editors were dyed-in-the-wool woodsballers) -- it was just that nobody was making cool stuff designed solely for woods play."

Castle Conquest XX
Written by Rick Wloch. Posted May 16, 2007
It was a crisp October morning as I waited for the rest of my team to show for our three hour drive to EMR Paintball Park for the Castle Conquest XX scenario event. Although most of us have been to EMR for 26 hour games, only one of us has ever experienced a Castle Conquest. My first teammate showed up around 5:45 am, and the other two wondered in between 6 and 6:30. Finally, we hit the road. If you have never been to a Castle Conquest this is how it works. The Castle is 32,000 square feet with two stories and a couple of three story towers.
