A lot of people wonder when they purchase a paintball gun about whether they should use CO2 (carbon dioxide) or HPA (high pressure air). Flip open just about any paintball magazine and you'll see page after page of glitzy tourney ads. Only about ten percent of the advertising in Action Pursuit Games is aimed at the woodsballTM player. But, according to a poll by SpecialOps Paintball, commercial paintball fields around the country play woodsballTM more than seventy-percent of the time - and this doesn't count the informal pickup games that take place every Saturday in forests and vacant lots across America. Less than thirty-percent of commercial paintball is played on a tourney format.

Special Ops Gets It Done! -- Until recently, the online paintball universe was a pretty dismal place. There are a few decent sites but nothing that really grabs you. Part of the problem is paintball's identity crisis. The average paintball dude plays in the woods with his buddies but all the attention goes to tourney ball with their day-glow uniforms, $1000 markers, and sterile air bunker environments. Watching a tourney game is fun for about five seconds. That's about how long it takes for you to realize that nothing is happening.
